YOU HAVE ONE WEEK // Tap-O-Matic group buy/build is closing (Patreon)
Content
Hello, hope you're well!
Here's is 1 weeks notice that we're closing off the chance to get involved in our first DIY group buy/build with the DivKid Discord version of the Tap-O-Matic Delay module that is based on the OAM Time Machine (originally by Harry Richardson, adding CV over delay tap levels, pan per tap, mono in stereo out options and filters).
This is an open source project that we're working on as a community to get PCBs and panels out to those that would like to build them. It's a one run and done situation so if you're interested (and committed to pay for them) you need to get your name and what you want onto THIS GOOGLE SHEET. Note down your region too, if you need assembly (some people in some regions have offered to build/assemble for others - expect to pay for their time for this, but that will have to be worked out between those involved) and if you're willing to assemble them for others. Basically ... go to the link and fill in the form! :)
NOTE unless you're dealing with your own one off panels these will be a matt black PCB panel (image above) - all of this has been discussed in Discord, if you're not in the Discord - JOIN and take part in the conversation.
Unless you've specifically arranged for someone else assembling this for you (if you want assembled, check the google sheet and contact someone suiting) this is a DIY project. The bulk order is for the PCB and panel, we're working out where these go (US, UK, EU etc) and in how many separate orders to be most cost effective and then you will need to source parts, including a daisy submodule and build this yourself. There's a build guide, files etc on GitHub HERE. Estimates of costs are bringing this all in at under
COST
Note there's a $60 (USD) donation to be made to OAM per person for this project too. They've been great at supporting us doing this and making this open source in the first place so variations on the original design can happen. This will be handled through PayPal by sending the cash to - artz.kate@gmail.com
We're estimating (just an estimate, a rough one) this whole project for PCB, panel, parts (daisy, passives etc) shipping, some customs/tarrif charges and the donation to OAM ... we're estimating that all in this will be around $275 USD. We all hope it's less but I'm rounding up. NOTE you only need to pay for the PCB and panel up front as those are ordered, you'll be paying for your own parts as you source and buy them.
A HUGE thank you to Jonas (BlueNautilus) who has been testing, adjusting and running most of this and to everyone else involved in the Discord conversation as this comes together.
ANY QUESTIONS? don't leave a comment, go into the Discord (#diy-corner channel, TapOMatic DDV thread) and join the discussion there.
Thanks again to everyone involved, it's excited to get a DIY community project happening. Back again with more soon!
p.s. if I've missed anything, I will edit this post so inform me (on Discord) and I'll edit things here.
