Hello all,

hope you're well and having a good week. The past few days have seen me squirrelling away like crazy making the patches for this video demo. Moving the modules around the module and using external gear certainly adds to the time dump abyss that is video production! All good fun of course and I'm really impressed with this little shaper, rich waves blooming in the low end like tape saturation, drum bus glue limiting and saturation, waveshaping triangles to sines ... it goes on!

Coming up will be a video with the Audio Gear Obsession Summing Facility (lovely high quality mixer) and I'll be back to working on the next DivKid module as that releases before the middle of June. Teaser video to come.

All the best for now, don't forget to join the amazing community on Patreon, 10% discount off merch at bit.ly/divkidmerch using the code "divkidpatron", updated streaming resource at bit.ly/coronastreams , free Valhalla DSP Supermassive presets bit.ly/SUPERmassiveDIVKID (download the plug in too, it's free and totally ace).

Cheers!

Ben.

VIDEO DETAILS

Here we have the super powerful, triple channel tanh[3] waveshaper, compressor / limiter, soft clipping distorting saturator from Eurorack. It’s a 4HP Eurorack module that performs and tangential waveshaping function on the input (be it audio or CV). It will shape triangles to sines and ‘almost’ squares, it will add hold and sustain to envelopes, it adds harmonics or softens harmonics like the low end bloom of driving into tape. It’s totally dynamic to input level so simply using a VCA you can add CV control to the channels for a dynamic saturation and limiting of the signals. It’s often banded around as a “secret weapon” in Max MSP and Pure Data circles as there’s a tanh shaper object in those environments. As always I hope the video sparks lots of ideas for the module and your own systems. Any questions just ask, cheers!

Mathematicians pronounce it Tanch. Great video as usual.
