808 Beat Sheets ... WTF are beat sheets? (Patreon)

Hello,

last week I made a post talking about 808 classic beats and having simplified (brought to one bar and pattern rather than two for simplicity) as part of my work at Deer Shed Festival. I also said if any of you want these then I'd be happy to share. So here we are!

These are part of the wider DivKid Patreon Drive which is a perk/reward of the $5+ tier support level. However I'd like to share these with all of you so here's a direct link - linky linky*

If you're wondering what I'm on about take a look at the image above and the one below. It's a spreadsheet method of documenting sequencer drum patterns and here you'll find 12 classic beats going through the Beastie Boys to Marvin Gaye, Underground Resistance to Afrika Bambaataa and A Guy Called Gerald.

If nothing else it's good to recreate these sounds as a base to jam on. So try recreating these beats with your own drum machines, either with (or then change them) from 808 sounds, add other percussion lines, probabilities, remove parts, jam with the toms into a delay and a rimshot into a flanger ... go wild and have fun!
