Beauty in the Beast - Devlog (Patreon)

Hello, my dear crew!

Sukuna has been good to us this month. His sprite was a joy to sketch and draw – the most time-consuming part was rendering small details (stayed up until 5am to finish them yesterday hah)

Thank you so much for all your input and suggestions on the story! As I mentioned earlier, this story will be set in the Heian period. I’ve been diving into some Heian-era literature, like The Pillow Book and The Tale of Genji, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that writing by women was quite popular back then. Many of the works from this period were authored by women, and they’re truly fascinating reads. Nature held a central place in people’s lives, with much of the literature revolving around it. Taking inspiration from this – and since Sukuna and Uraume have nature-related powers (fire/ice) – our MC will also wield nature-based abilities.

The tape’s title will be Beauty in the Beast. For gameplay, I won’t be experimenting with anything particularly new since animating Sukuna’s extra limbs and appendages will be the real challenge this time heh

I’ll be posting a Navigator poll soon, either today or tomorrow. After that, I'll be focused on sketching smut scenes, backgrounds, and developing the story. Small updates might pop up in Discord if you want to follow along!
