You can now take the task manager we built and turn it into a much more complete project management application, with projects, resources, costs, timelines, boards, notifications, and custom fields all working together.

The biggest improvement is how much more you can manage from a single application. Instead of simply tracking tasks, you can now work with individual projects, assign resources, track project costs, view work through boards and timelines, and manage your team from a much more organized interface. It takes the original task flow and gives it the structure and flexibility of a real project manager.

I also brought in many of the useful features from the older Excel-based Project Manager and used Claude to incorporate them into the newer application. This includes project resources and costs, project-specific links, email notifications for new projects, status changes, completed projects, new tasks and completed tasks, an email log, working-day schedules, holidays, and daily work hours. The administration area has also been expanded to give you much more control over how the application works. One of the biggest new additions is custom fields for each project. You can now add up to 10 custom fields per project, using formats such as text, number, amount, percentage, and date. This gives you the flexibility to track things like costs, KPIs, dates, customer information, or other project-specific details instead of being limited to the original fields. The setup area has also received a major improvement, with dedicated areas for teams, projects, project types, task types, project status, schedules, working days, work hours, holidays, costs, and notifications. I also moved team management into a much cleaner horizontal menu, making the application easier to navigate and configure.

Another major improvement is the expanded notification system, where you can turn individual email notifications on or off and customize the subject and message using project information. The updated application also includes an email log, giving you a way to keep track of those communications.

This is a great example of what you can do when you take an existing application, give Claude the right source files and instructions, and ask it to understand and incorporate features from another project. What started as a simple task manager has now become a full-sized project manager handling projects, resources, costs, timelines, boards, team management, notifications, and custom setup.

Take a look at the updated training and the revised project manager download below so you can see exactly how these features were added and how you can apply the same approach to your own applications.
