It's a great time to be an anime fan!

Jet Man

This episode elevated the status of this show from A Tier into S Tier.

Uschi

Rafal is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto. She voices Tamayo from Demon Slayer, Crystal - Carole & Tuesday, and Takada from Death Note, but you watched the dub of that one. :0

Mike

Yeah the schedule right now is stacked with great shows.

skrrt

I would absolutely watch a bunch of actual professionals giving their takes on anime openings

This is the most invested I’ve ever seen you in a anime. I honestly had the similar feelings about orb. I’m a Christan and I usually don’t like with Christan’s tell you it’s this way or the other way. This anime made me realize that having your own interpretation on your faith is ok. Like when Hubert said he still believes in god he just disagrees with people. Man I love when a anime makes you sit down and think.

Sk dragon

schedule is really stacked indeed

There's Dan on youtube (his channel is called music theory for gamers) who has a music education background and does streams where he teaches viewers and does some breakdowns about elements from the osts he listens too. I don't think he does anime at the moment though

Ken Shufflebottom

This show perfectly demonstrates the 3 episode rule. This is how you start a story and hook your audience

Hermit

That story about your mother is great. This would have scarred me for life as a kid hahaha

Anime generally does a great job of making the viewer feel sad and emotional for a character's death but this is probably the first time that death of a character is inspiring or 'moving'. Also what a great OST during that scene. On a side note I feel like the further we go down this anime the longer Tony's after anime thoughts are gonna be and we're all here for it.

Arian Abdolahy

It's super cool to see you so passionate about this anime and these topics and the anger at the conditions that were present is palpable. Based on what you described you like, "Avatar - The Last Airbender" comes to mind. It's deeply spiritual, full of wisdom, and has some of the best character development I've ever seen in any anime. The question of how to conduct oneself in the face of injustices like that is also explored on multiple levels.

Alesta

I almost went crazy waiting a week per episode back then

GentleStepsOnSand

same, so I eventually went on to binge read the manga cause I just could not wait

I'm so glad you're reacting to Orb. Like I said last year this was one of them ones, a masterpiece of an anime in my opinion.

P_ateric

I’d watch a whole TV show about your idea here

19:20 Would like to suggest a flaw on translation. Here, 「知性」 (pronounced Chisei, means intellect) is translated into “truth” but the word’s base meaning should fit more, or “reasoning”, “rationality”. “Truth” is too big of a word to fit here.

everyone when they watched this ep the first time : 👁️👄👁️

Bautista

IDK if this will be seen but i just NEED to put this yap in here since i finally decided to watch this. Growing up in a HEAVILY catholic household (my last name Bautista is literally after the guy who baptized Jesus) i always had my reservations about going to church (probably because i was too lazy to get up on sundays) but it was during my first confirmation 10 years ago at the age of 16, when i was asked why i believe in Jesus or Catholicism that i really started to think "why im i even here learning about this? because i was told to?" . We were then asked to choose a Saint to represent that feeling and i chose Thomas the apostle aka "Doubting Thomas" because he initially doubted the resurrection of Jesus until he could confirm it himself. All of that to say that i have never consumed a piece of media this thought provoking that i would remember back to a time when an idea so ingrained in me was finally challenged and genuinely changed how i viewed things in life. What a fuckin anime. Im not trying to say anything bad about religion or belief systems, i think they're great if they can help people live happier lives without harming others. But wow, what a show so far.
