I think the Monk is one of my favorite characters so far. There are obviously going to be SO many different characters... but something about this split was very interesting. I need to watch a comparison of the OP animation as we go on.

I said it before but it's so interesting to see this story told from a Japanese perspective. Like the religious fanaticism of that era shaped so many aspects of western culture, and we still feel it's impact in the us politically, but japan has been relatively insulated from that history (besides the first contact from the Dutch and that whole era), so it's kind of an outsiders perspective. And it doesn't show it in a very good light lol, I feel like westerners romanticize this era a bit more

I love Ozcy and Badeni so much they’re such polar opposites. This part of the story is my favorite

It's compelling television, have to convince myself not to queue up another episode every time

yea its best kept spoiler free as you watch, then when you finish the show it would be dope if you checked out the comparison video of all 4 opening versions

Another take at appreciating what we take for granted in our modern world is found in "Dr. Stone". It has a different tone, overall optimistic and funny, but it's also unique among animes, definitely not your typical Shonen. So, if you dig that theme, check it out.

The one thing that really made me love the show was the fact they don’t make heliocentrism a black and white concept. They don’t separate the ideas to where heliocentrism is denying god and geocentrism is believing in god. But it makes it that it’s because they believe in god that he made world to be beautiful and rational. IMO As a whole makes this a great think piece about how in the past, how science and faith weren’t contradictory but instead science is just one form of faith, just as much as any other form of expression.
