The teacher that's managing the club is just a literature teacher at the scgool that's there to kinda supervise the club and do things like asking another school to have a practice match (which is something that he's not even required to do) so yeah. He's learning along the way.

I'm glad you're enjoying this, one of the few animes I've seen you have a perpetual smile throughout every minute of every episode haha. I still wish this was more frequent like a D.A.D tier anime where you have 4 episodes a week but there's no room to add more episodes of this. Just like jojos sometimes it's better to take it easy

The teacher is very important for viewers, like me, who's never seen or play volley ball. That's smart because explain the rules to an experiment player would be ridiculous

The GOAT has arrived!!! My absolute favorite character in all of Haikyuu is this guy and I can't wait for the show to feed you things about honestly, everyone. Haikyuu is a show where you find yourself rooting for the opponents sometimes too because of the characterization and I love that.

honestly this show reminds me of all the baseball and football made for tv movie, like revenge of the titans or whatever it was, or really any sports movie, there was that basketball one with sam jackson that was pretty good, they all got that similar plot structure, this one obv is more japanese and animified, but still the same basics

I don't think you can really make it subtle, it's either this or they just put some narrator. I think this is better, and it's clear the author makes these on purpose specially in future ocassions, it's almost like: "yeah, I know it's obvious, I'm not making it subtle at all"

24:18 they have only played 2 sets and won 1 set, so they haven't won the match since it's the best of 3 sets. So they could still lose the match. (unnless if you just got confused with the terminology, in which case fair enough)

On the topic of the way the faces are drawn over the net: it's actually how the human eye works as well. When you are playing a match and you focus on the person's face on the other side of the net, the net itself begins to blur almost to invisibility. It's really fascinating how the brain deletes certain things from your vision!

FYI, Takeda (Karasuno's faculty supervisor) not knowing anything about volleyball is not unrealistic. In Japan, ALL school clubs MUST have a faculty supervisor and most of the time, especially for young teachers, the teachers are assigned to the club they are to supervise. Naturally the schools usually try to assign a teacher that has some sort of connection with the club, but it's not a luxury all schools have. Any school that has a competitive club, whether it be sports, performing arts, etc., usually hire an external coach to do the coaching. I have a friend who is a high school teacher and she was assigned to be the supervisor for the school's dance team but she went in, like Takeda, not knowing anything about competitive dancing.
