I totally get how frustrating it is that they don't actually have the flat-out verbal confirmation, but I think they both enjoyed the whole "Make the other person say it first" game they've been playing, so it's kinda charming that they get to keep it up. Overall I love this show, it has such good vibes. It's been great to see your reactions. ☺️

What’s interesting about this episode is that the post-credits scene is anime original and I expect that originally they intended to cap off the anime adaptation here but then the movie got announced right after season 3 finished so who knows when in production they decided to make more but I’m happy.

They explain it a bit more for the first episode of the movie, but there’s a reason Hayasaka called her an idiot for using her tongue during the kiss. Also, I love how this episode goes so in-depth to their character’s and what they think of themselves/how they portray their ideal selves but I think I might love what the movie does to the characters even more. And yep, you caught on to it, we might be getting a possible Ishigami/Miko/Tsubame love triangle thing going on but I have no clue. She thought Ishigami was going to confess to her and now it actually got her thinking. I love this show sooo much, not in my top 5 but very possibly in a top 10 if I had to seriously consider one.

So Ishigami doesnt actually know that giving someone a heart means confessing to them. During the play he kinda put it together but not as an actuall confession. Oh, and when Shinomiya said ridicolous she didnt try to shut it down or make any mind games, maybe the translation just made it look that way.

When she says his plan was "ridiculous", she was just playing up her character trope. She is what is commonly referred to as a tsundere, which is "a Japanese character archetype, primarily seen in anime, manga, and video games, characterized by a person who initially appears cold, aloof, and even hostile, but gradually reveals a warmer, more caring side, especially towards a love interest." Also for the recommendation letters, he got 1 for each term he served as student president. Since he did 2 terms, he gave the extra one to Shinomiya.

I mean the translation wasnt really wrong its just that they could use different word, like idk... very amusing? oh and as someone said above this is also an anime characters trope of saying words they dont actually mean

I had the luxury of watching the show when it first starting airing in 2019 and continuing to watch it as it released. When the final season came out i was so sad that it was over as it was one of the first animes i ever watched. Then when a movie was announced i was super excited, but then i realized that it would actually be the end of the show for me, so i never actually watched it. I guess now would be a good time to finish it eh 😅.

Other people mentioned it but the "ridiculous" comment from Kaguya was a playful one. More of a "oh you didn't have to go through all this effort just for me!" kind of vibe, which is basically what she says immediately after. He could've asked her out at a Burger King with no bells and whistles and she would've been delighted either way. True story, I asked my current gf of 6.5 years out at a Burger King, no balloons, no grand master plan...worked out for me!

At least here they got to a kiss and it's a sealed deal. A good chunk of romance anime (and the reason I don't watch purely romance anime anymore) ends with "and then they held hands" or "now they became good friends who have hots for each other"
