Not sure where I saw this quote but something like At the end of the day he who judges a sinner, is a sinner as well. Else how could he know what a sin is ? Kinda relatable with sibyl system.

It was "country", not "county". Basically Japan alone is under the Sybil system, and Touma (as the chief) claimed that the rest of the world is lawless. I think that Psycho pass is at least in part an allegory for the collectivism of Japanese culture.

The merging of the mind into a collective is popular concept in anime. It orobably has something to do with japanese culture but I don't know enough to speak on this. Still, really cool concept. Wish I could mention some other shows that do it (one of them being *really* influential, if you know you know). But that would be a big spoiler. Hope we'll some of them on this patreon one day.

Personally, I'd like to see you try watching this series past this season. Season 2 was still enjoyable to me even if it wasn't perfect and stuff like the movies and season 3 are on the same level as season 1 in my opinion.

I say if you finish season 1 and still want more, just run it. It's not like you're not enjoying it and if you were to ever give it a chance, better now when you have the best sense of what's going on. Also I think the most important aspect of the Sibyl System to understand is that the brains they select to add to the system, are specifically those who are unique thinkers and don't fit into the norms of society. They also said they desire those who do not empathize with strangers and will views all others objectively. Zero empathy for other humans is the defining characteristic of a psychopath. Hue checks alone can be done by computers, but your Psycho-Pass can only be determined by Sybil. So, every Psycho-Pass is determined by psychopaths.

Season 2 story line would less be linked and smooth as season1. Not gonna spoil the message that season deliver, but you can tell the meaning of Sybyl system and how different characters view it.

A few eps back I mentioned you said something that was hilarious foreshadowing. Our Villains were discussing the Sybil system and it must be located in the tower, and your commentary was along the lines of “oh so like a brain server” had me chuckling 😂

I can't count how many times I had to rewatch episodes and scenes (especially in animes like this) precisely because it is so hard to read subs while taking the scene in. but doesn't hurt by good animes where you can understand more and more every time you rewatch them (as long as you have fun doing it, I guess)

Yeah, especially Season 3 and everything after it was really great in my opinion too. really happy I didn't drop the anime after S2 :)
