Simply a slap of anger, the critical situation gives Loulan the chance to no longer hold back, as well as to disobey her mother and say what she thinks without hesitation.

I don't think she was necessarily running to see her kid. I interpreted it as her wanting to run away from the Loulan, since Loulan has a high status and was clearly mad at her. The implication was these moms don't care about their kids. You see it when that one kid is getting threatened by Shenmei and his mom just stands there and watches.
