Refering to what was written in the end "Umeko Ando. May her soul rest in peace." "Umeko Ando (1932-2004) was one of the best-known artists of the Ainu, an indigenous, long-oppressed community in northern Japan." So the episode was like a tribute to her, since it was about indigenous people (Okuru, who was also from the north and probably supposed to depict the Ainu). The song that Okuru was playing on his string instrument was actually from Umeko Ando. It's called "Pekanpe Uk". I'll post it in the Discord anime reactions.

Beautiful information, thank you

If you like that kind of episode, I'm sure you'd like Mushishi

"When duty goes out of style, the world will be nothing but darkness." It does go pretty hard as a quote. If someone told me it was a line of dialogue out of Orb, I'd probably believe it.
