I had a phase as a kid where my cousins and I owned a PS2 without a memory card for some reason (and we couldn't just buy it ofc). That was definitely an experience when the games that we owned were like Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper that are just not possible to beat in a single sitting. So we had to play them and try to stop adults from turning them off lol (we couldn't). We eventually asked for one but we spent like a month playing like this trying to get as far as possible.

OMG! When you mentioned leaving the TV on overnight. My parents would hate my guys when they'd find out! Thankfully, as you had to use the cable adapter (or AV cables in the "newer versions of the console), you could just turn the TV off and pretend the NES was off as well (cover the power light, for example) so you could continue playing either after school or early in the weekends. That, and trading games with friends... what a time that was!
