I just had to look him up because I wanted to know who the VA was...makes sense it's a real rapper. It is so easy to mistake this anime for light-hearted chilln bc of the appearances of the characters... its some dark stuff!

Pretty sure the English translator for Yano is just kicking ass. I've heard that translations in other languages don't have it work quite as well.

The translator is making wonders here. The gist of phrasing is the same and they transformed the script into something that rhymes. Also yep all phones sold in JP can’t mute for legal reasons.

Japanese rap slaps, everytime I hear some it hypes pe up, I should really start looking into it. The rapper is a porcupine I'm pretty sure. About the voice acting being so good, I think it's mainly due to how organic it feels. Even without speaking japanese, you can tell through the flow of the dialogue and the characters intonation how realistic it is. Kinda funny given that its a show about antropomorphic animals.

Also no, you cannot turn off the camera noise on Japanese phones. They have a huge creep culture and even offer gendered train cabs because of how bad upskirt shots and groping are in commuter cabs

The one with middle age man bain is liquified, it's also saying that in Japanese. So some fit pretty well. Other times where the translation can't keep up with the Japanese, the Japanese rhymes aren't always amazing, there are parts where it's bit flat as well

this is why i love fiction of this variety, because of the fact that the characters are both animated and anthropomorphized(ie they are animal given human characteristics), people are more receptive and don't immediately knee jerk reject the lessons in the story, thus allowing people to feel empathy and gain understanding where they might have resisted otherwise du to bias, both intentional and unconscious.
