This anime does a very good job at keeping moments realistic.Specifically, the 2nd string coming in and having moments of failure mixed in with success. I would have been frustrated if it was just all 10s and Ws. It's great to see the process of growth from everyone. Talked about it a lot at the end and spawned another Tangent Tony about music schools.

ennoshita what a goat. it's stories like this that make me love sports so much.

That moment with Hinata soft blocking, then running for the diving receive, and THEN spiking it is one of my favorites, absolutely crazy and shows just how much heart he has. Ennoshita is such a good side character in this show, they use him amazingly for the time he gets and I loved him actually taking on that Captain role, especially since that’s the role the team members want him in once the current Captain leaves, great stuff.

I love that the second years that aren't Tanaka or noya all get their moments in the show even if its just for one set or even a few points

is this how it felt when jesus was resurrected (deadchi coming back) 😭

Is the Jazz director you are speaking of by any chance Clarence Acox?

Shawtty

The early celebration, then stop to make sure, and celebrate again 😂yeah this anime made me do that a lot 🤣

I was in Jazz band at my high school in Southern California way back when and we were one of the best in our area directed by Jeff Tower. We would go to competitions and festivals and his name and the GHS Jazz Program would be thrown around alllllll the time, what a legend!!!

Yea! Super good program. Garfield is the school I taught at for 11 years

JD

Sheeeeesh!!! That's awesome! Just so other people know in case they read this, this school is no joke and gave the world musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Quincy Jones, and Mackelmore just to name a few that might be recognized in pop culture.

Lol I arranged Thriller for the band when Quincy Jones came. We named the performing arts center after him. I Did a few drumline gigs with macklemore. He wanted the high school kids, we had a good time. Also recorded in the studio with him playing drums (Seahawks Drumline) . He is a good dude

JD

That's crazy!! I bet it must have been a little nerve-wracking to arrange one of the most world renowned songs and then perform it for the man that produced it. I would have been shitting my pants if I had to do that in high school band.

Excellent reaction, loved the tangent tony as usual. Also loved the comment about sports being badass. When you and your opponent are both performing at peak ability, it's exhilarating. Same for board and video games actually, any competitive activity i suppose

SKAOG

Damn, that's incredible
