Yes the coach’s VA passed away and from last episode a new VA had taken over. RIP.

Edgar Lopez

killer episode and season, also on your comment about basketball anime some really good ones are slam dunk and kuroko’s no basketball!

Lixien

Coach's original VA passed away during this season. Episode 8 was his last ep. They included his last line "Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up" as one of the tracks in the Original Sountrack for Season 3 https://youtu.be/HJs3DOlHPZc?si=CVdYc0LqOu_WdA0O

"I'll default you next time" is such a big compliment to both of them, but especially Hinata. This was his last high school game, and Ushijima is going straight to pro. So the only point he'd be playing them is at either japan's pro league or national level, meaning he expects both of them to make it there.

Omar Bautista

RIP bruno mars ED it was fun to listen too

Lixien

Also, that 360° shot is just crazy good we have no idea. There's obviously no camera rotating here, that's all drawings. That's just impressive animation.

BlakStatik23

I forgot to mention it on the previous episode, but the same way there was a movie with an extra scene for last season, there was also a movie with an extra scene for this season as well. It’s with Shiratorizawa’s team after the loss. The two OVAs are the first material for Season 4 and the first animation we got during Covid-era, they changed the style up so it’s gonna look different. The first episode of the OVA is Land vs Air and then the second one is called Path of the Ball. Both are must watches with completely cannon material.

Tony several months ago: "Any good anime about Volleyball?" Tony today: "Any good anime about Basketball?"

SimplySora

If I got hit that hard in the face with the ball, I’m OUT of the game lmao

Cody

I can’t wait for Tanaka’s sister to become Tony’s favorite character next season

SKAOG

2:02 yeah, unfortunately he passed away, so the new VA took over from the previous episode onwards

SKAOG

3:53 The OST is "Limit Switch" by Yuki Hayashi (you can tell by the way it sounds, espeically with the slience and then resumption at 3:58)

SKAOG

4:09 6:09 The OST is "The Battle of Concepts" by Yuki Hayashi (which is also the title of the episode, and the topic of the season)

SKAOG

imo S4 is the best of Haikyuu

OnikeNew

As always, here for your small comments on the music throughout :D

Isaac

Haikyuu is just the fucking best man,

aidy

Rest in peace, Coach VA! I noticed this too when I was watching Haikyuu for the first time and noticed a slight change in his voice. The 2nd VA is great too, but Kazunari Tanaka's voice just suits the coach and hits different. Everytime I watch haikyuu I'm very happy and grateful to hear him. "Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up!" were his last lines for the coach in the end of episode 8. Will always be grateful to him for his hard work and dedication to Haikyuu.

Lilttle late to the party but yes, theres a good basketball anime. Kuroko no Basketball. Anime where the main characters have (very minor) superhuman powers. Cool soundtrack

rene

If you want a more superhumanish feel good basketbal anime Kuroko no Basketball is good. If you want a more grounded and serious basketball anime Slam Dunk is an iconic classic anime, very legendary.

Adam

I'm gonna miss the Ushijima impressions tbh. 🗿: I thought it was super funny
