Nothing has been explicitly stated, but as you noted last episode, they appear to have the same lighter. You also have an 18 year old who thinks detectives are cool, and a detective. The detective hates vampires and knows Nazuna's name, and the 18 year old now has a strong reason to hate vampires. And finally they have the same voice actress, Sawashiro Miyuki, who has a very distinctive husky voice (I believe you've previously heard her as Dabi the demon sister in the first demon slayer movie and the blonde enforcer who always stays at HQ and deals with computer stuff in Psycho Pass).

I believe the dad didn't use the lighter because it was a close personal item he got when he was human. I speculate that he didn't use it out of instinct and wasn't aware that it could kill him. So when he did use it, he snapped into a rage vampire state and just wanted blood. That's my take. I haven't read the manga to this chapter yet, so I don't know if I'm missing more information.

Yeah, I second that opinion, like what the other vampires mentioned earlier they didn't *consciously* know, but did *instinctively* feel what their close personal item was. That said, I think it wasn't so much rage vampire state, but rather that him holding the lighter began quickly draining him/killing him, resulting in the father becoming more feral briefly. Unfortunately, that brief moment of supernatural feral-ness led him to smack the shit outta his own beloved daughter. Also subsequently draining the life outta his own wife that he came crawling back to and admitted his cheating to. So, when the brief moment of feral-ness ended, well... Can't blame the guy for thinking it was a dream, since so much fucked up shit happened all at once while he was only semi-conscious

Yeah I agree, that's a better explanation

Shucks

Sorry, you said "its like you ran into something" so I can't tell if you noticed or not that nazuna actually got punched while tailing the dad but just wanted to make sure. Its only on screen for like 2 frames.

I agree. I'll add my interpretation. The father's mistress was a vampire, and she was the one who hit Nazuna when she was chasing the taxi the father was in. The father knew she was a vampire and wanted to become her offspring, but at some point he regretted it and returned to his family, unaware that he had already been turned. At least that's what I gather from what we saw and the dialogues
