Shucks

So Nazuna got hit by a vampire while tailing the dad on his way to his side piece and hes suddenly a vampire after being done seeing her. It can be assumed the affair was with a vampire, she made him fall for her, turned him without his knowledge and then dumped him. Apparently he didn't really realize it untill he touched his weakness, the lighter his daughter gave him. We don't know anything about the woman/vamp the dad was presumably seeing.

drumrolltonyreacts

huh? It's implied that was seeing a vampire? I guess I missed that because we saw bro on flip phone and walking

Shucks

Yeah I commented on ep 8 about it but theres like 2 frames you can see her getting hit by another figure. She didnt just run into something

drumrolltonyreacts

Interesting design. You could literally blink and miss that. So yeah, I guess she got an interaction with a vampire. That doesn't do much for telling me he was with one. This story has been littered with vampires and is not out of the ordinary for the setting but I guess that would make sense.

Shucks

I mean I suppose there are other possibilities, that was just my line of thinking from the timing of it all.

I will explain my thought process to justify this theory. The father did not know he was a vampire and only noticed when he touched the lighter. I believe there must be other ways in which a human who does not know they have been transformed could realize it by chance. Under this premise, we can assume that the transformation must have been recent, otherwise he would most likely have realized it much earlier. The condition for becoming a vampire is to fall in love with a vampire and have them suck your blood, and the person he has recently fallen in love with is his mistress. Nazuna was attacked by a vampire while following the father. Apparently, she just pushed her out of the way and never acted again (at least as far as we know), so we deduce that it's not something personal against her, which leaves us with the conclusion that it must be related to the father. What remains unclear is whether the father knew she was a vampire or not (the vampire could drink his blood while he sleeps), whether he reconsidered and returned to his family or the vampire dumped him, and whether she knew he had already been turned or not.

Not noticing your blood being sucked is a stretch. Him falling in love makes sense tho

Standout moments for me on the dad scene was cigarette and his confusion. He said his cigarette tastes off, which could mean that his tastes changes after becoming a vampire (completely baseless head cannon vampire lore, but narratively fits better than random dud?), and his confusion at desiring blood and being in a dream pointed towards him not knowing to me, since you would think a long term vampire would have some hint by then, but his mental state could definitely be interpreted a lot of ways.

Shucks

I mean Nazuna drinks off passed out people right? Feel like she could just get him plastered and take blood, but who knows. The fact that whoever hit Nazuna didnt keep going after her is a good call though.

drumrolltonyreacts

It's true. She does. All i did was point out a low point in the storytelling effectiveness guys, , I still like it. 😂💀

Shucks

No thats valid, just discussing possibilities. Another thing I thought was weird is that pops acted normal untill that moment. We see akkun turn and it seems like transformation isnt instant in every way but it'd be assumed he didnt taste anything at least all day untill that cigarette.

Shucks

I mean I'm pretty sure that LG says he kept eating ramen even though it didn't taste good now after turning. So thats not baseless

Nah nah lmao yeah that is def the biggest cultural difference I noticed with people reacting to this episode in particular. In the entirety of Japan, there were only **Ten** gun-related deaths in 2023. 99% of the population have never heard a gunshot in their life, but they do hear *plenty* of fireworks! They love their festival fireworks after all lmao Also, the dad thing, no idea. I mean, there's def several speculations to be made I suppose, but I don't really care about him all that much to find out I guess
