OBJECTION!!! your not ready for the glory of phonex wright, which is the anime they were referencing here LUL about a japanese lawyer

Edgar Lopez

higuruma the fucking goat, 2 weeks into barely getting his technique and he already hit the pinnacle of jujutsu with a domain expansion, fucking goatt

This episode was animated pretty much entirely by one person btw (over the course of a good few months of course). As for crime anime, monster is one of the classics but there could be a lot more that I don't know about

drumrolltonyreacts

One person? wow. Wild. We did Monster on Tier 3. Its in my top 10 for sure!

Cody

I remember reading this and being like wait homie has been at this for a fortnight and has surpassed our boy Nanami🥲

Mal

They made his shikigami much scarier in the anime, so far overall the adaptation has made a lot of parts much more darker and its so fun to watch

Tp2222

you're right to point that out yeah - I definitely understated the amount of work that 2nd KAs etc contribute

When having a normal job overly prepares you for the horrors of being a jujutsu sorcerer. As for crime animes. Uhh Erased comed to mine. Great Pretender but thats more comedic. Ghost in the Shell (movie or series. Movie is stand alone and series doesnt require the movie so they can be watched independently). You alreqdy watched Psycho Pass. Baccano is thriller/crime in 1930s. But if you're wanting somethibg like in this sort of pacing and style or tone. Erased is about all i can think of.

Alejandro Pupo

Ghost in the Shell (either movie or the TV show Stand Alone Complex) is a pretty great sci-fi police series, though it definitely isn't as grounded as what we saw in the first half of this episode and explores a lot more philosophy.

No the entire episode was key animated by Kouki Fujimoto. He's also credited as a in-betweener, and with only 1 Animation Director on this episode a lot of the animation is not being corrected because Fujimoto's drawing skills are just that good. In terms of pure animation and movement, Fujimoto basically animated the entire episode himself

ML Snow

If you look at the episode credits, you'll see that only one name appears under key animation, which means that a single animator was in charge of ALL the key animation for the episode. It's that simple, so it's even more incredible than you think. These cases are exceptional. Obviously, the rest of the staff also deserves credit, without a doubt. The direction and music were great as usual.

Just a reminder, if it haven't been brought up to your attention yet. The original soundtrack for the first part of JJK has been officially released and I mentioned all the soundtracks that have been used in the legendary Maki episode (4) in the comment section of that episode.

Arian Abdolahy

Haha, like those alien memes. Alien appears in front of a guy and asks "Aren't you shocked?!" and the guy is like "Man, I've been going through a lot lately."

Arian Abdolahy

Yeah, one person sounds not believable to me but I might be misunderstanding it. My best friend studies at a famous film university in Babelsberg, Germany and she's working for 5 years on a 7 minute animation movie. (It's not anime tho, it's stop motion in her case.) Others need 7 years or even 10 years she said. (Different types of animation.) And she has a team of 10 people. That's crazy.

Sam

The directing and musical choices this season have been super bold and I’ve really, really liked it

Jet Man

5:51 - Saw the needle hit the record and expected to hear some Creepy Nuts.

ScaringCrows

Pluto is a phenomenal and short anime that has a detective as the main character

Hermit

You might like Pluto then. It's by the same creator as Monster and its a murder investigation.

8:14 oh damn, they used a S1 OST, i think it's the first one that ive idenified in this Season that was obvious to me ("The Beginning" made by Alisa Okehazama, which is why it sounded different from the rest of the OST so far, because the OSTs specifically composed for S3 Part 1 and released in the album are all made by Yoshimasa Terui)

15:41 funnily enough, PUBG Mobile had a JJK collab a few years ago. i think i have the Gojo accessory
