Great episode! LOL spawned the 1st Tangent Tony on this series of reactions 😂I got so distracted I forgot to talk about Peco! #oops It was fun to see the fire that Kazama has and just a ferocious output level. Interesting coaching decisions in this one.

I think it’s worth mentioning that this anime does a good job of showing the reality of ping pong in China and Japan. It’s basically a national sport there, and we know how much emphasis is placed on results in sports, education, and careers in these countries (although I think it’s more common in China). There’s also a huge social shame around failure because everything is taken very seriously, like we saw in Kazama’s school, where they have 15 facilities operating 24/7 just for ping pong. It all sounds funny, but at the same time it’s kind of fucked up that you can put your entire life into ping pong, and when you lose, it feels like you’ve lost at life. And thats probably why Smile let China guy win because he knows what would happened if he comes back to his country as a loser.

I tried to convince a friend to give this anime a shot and he won't because "it looks ugly". I understand where he's coming from but it's also such a shame. Stepping out of your comfort zone can make you realize how much you're missing out on. The animation in this show is stunning in its own way
