This battle is epic AF!I personally have a hard time managing items that give augmentations and diminishing effects. Lots to keep track of! We knew the necklace would come into play, and we have arrived! Very curious to see what happens next. Helmet parry FTW!

This episode again made me really want to play a similiar game and appreciate what the author did here. Most game animes/storys only have a surface level story but with shangrila it feels like he almost wrote the lore that could be from an actual game, not to mention that the characters actually behave like some people IRL would. And regarding the conditional skill, sanraku explained that he can activate "Climax Boost", If HP is below one third, it boots his stats in proportion to the level gap of his enemy. The other skill was "Hunger Wolf" but that wasnt conditional, it has negative effects(depletes stamina and such) when its being used and increases strength, agility, vitality in proportion to how low his hp and hunger is. Also only lasts one minute.

I definitely paused this episode a couple of times to read and understand the abilities. They were explained in like 2 frames a pop, nowhere near enough time to get them as they happen. The takeaway is that bros are buffed the eff up.

I don't think that chunk of metal was from the sword. I think it was from the helmet's horn. I could be wrong though.

The female singer in the opening is Reol, she started off doing covers of Vocaloid songs and she does use quite a bit of auto tune and vocal layering. Her music is pretty hit or miss for me tbh.

I remember struggling with the weekly wait with this fight spanning 4 episodes when this show was coming out, so fun to be able to see it all now back to back. Love that you're able to relate so much to this kind of setting, with my own fun in a certain MMO years ago it's such a nostalgia trip, not many things spur those memories
