Thanks as always RDA! Her vocals aren’t really my favorite in this piece too. Still am able to appreciate the song it’s just not on repeat.

LOL you watch this reaction in like 4x speed? LOL I JUST uploaded it

Got an email notification 🤣. Zutomayo’s my fav band so I’m always here!

This was actually Takashi Adachi on bass and not Nikamoto, but all the Zutomayo bass players are great and are afforded the room to really show off. After I heard it, I assumed you were not going to dig the vocal approach, but Acane has been experimenting a lot with her vocals in the last year or so and one can appreciate it on that level at least.

I was really looking forward to your reaction to this one. For me this song exists in a weird spot... I kinda don't like it, mainly because the vocals are distracting at times, but at the same time I really like it because it's interesting and different from their other songs. I remember that when the song was released the drummer commented "always experimenting", so I can't wait to see what they give us next.

Something I learned about Zutomayo back when I when to the concert is that Acane don't use autotune and her vocals are very interested to listen to,and the band alter a lot which makes the live so much different from what they put out on YT,fun experience ngl.

“If I went to trending and hit play I’d want to jump off a bridge” without jumping off the bridge part, I’d actually like to see that video for the entertainment value lmao

I quite like ZUTOMAYO but I agree that the singing isn't the selling point of the songs. It's not that I don't like the singing, it's just that everything else is just better.

Mannnnnn. I typed a whole rant and erased it. It hit me in a complicated way vocally 🤣

In short, I dig the vision and the dish, per se, 💯🔥. However, I didn't dig how she did the flavor profile. It had a little too much salt or citrus on taste and made my audio pallet do that slight neck tweak on taste. A little more explanation: Every artist gets to a time where they have a vision for a great song/dish, but it doesn't fit them as much. Some decide to still execute it, even though their awesome chops may not be the right seasoning. While some will have another with the same skill set level, but different seasoning execute it. For example, "I will always love you" Dolly vs Whitney. Or "Who's Lovin' You" Smokey vs Michael Jackson. But even for those examples the flavor profile was right in all versions and didn't cause the neck tweak when it hit the pallet like in this Zutomayo video. I remember long ago my dad showed me the difference between tasty off key flavor profile songs (i.e Joe Cocker) vs songs that had a little too much salt or citrus. If any of what I'm saying makes sense.

Amazing band, amazing singer, thx RDA

I sort of disagree tbh. Although the instrumentals are a level ahead of the vocals, I still think Aca-Ne (ZTMY Vocalist) is one of the best in the industry, and it's a very strong point of ZTMY nonetheless.

This is the first time (that I can remember atleast) that I've seen you talk about how ZUTOMAYO structures their vocal riffs/performances in depth, and the positives & negatives that come with it, which was great. Fun song, great reaction.
