Wow I had no idea people could actually hold their breath that long in reality with or without pure oxygen. Crazy, thanks for sharing it!

The-Most-Tropical-Piss

These reactions have definitely become the highlight of my day, so happy you're enjoying the show

romai

I feel like this anime is more like a crescendo. There is so much good writing and symbolism laid out. Foreshadowing I never caught my first few times watching this. I can’t wait 😩

o, ngl, I thought Gon was able to hold his breath for like 6 minutes or smth along those lines. Didn’t even realized it was actually around 9-10 minutes almost reaching the world record irl with the Sleeping gas taking 5 minutes to be fully active. I know its just an anime/show, but its kinda funny to think that a 12 year old child got so very close to beating the world record. Im actually more surprised he was able to hold his breath for that long while also carrying all 3 of Leorio, Kurapika and Ponzu at the same time… maybe he started a bit earlier because I don’t think he would be able to hold it that long while alao carrying multiple people.

All the screaming in the ending reminds me of the Vinland saga openings xd gdamn I miss listening to those.

aidy

I saw some people getting worried about if you're gonna like how the story goes next and I was like bruh it only keeps getting better and better xd you're in for a wild ride and I'm sure you'll definitely enjoy the whole anime!

aidy

genuinely same!!

aidy

When I was a kid, I don't remember why but I was practicing trying to hold my breathe and max I could go was a 1 minute xD 11 minutes is absolutely crazy..

Trowa

Okay but my question to you (or anyone new to the series) is at this point, who do you want to see fight and who do you think would win between the competitors you chose. I can't say anything i've seen the series but i'm curious.

P_ateric

don't they say like your brain can't survive 3 mins without oxygen? These ppl's blood exygen must be insane

Critz

This is just my personal opinion, but I also feel like people shouldn't speculate too much about "will he like X or Y?" etc. We should just chill out and find out - enjoy the ride, you know. It also risks spoiling the show if people talk about that stuff. I get why people wanna speculate though, but like you said, the show just keeps getting better and better

GRANIME

Just want to give a heads up - after episode 25 (and skipping the recap that is episode 26) you’re gonna wanna dodge opening and ending sequences until the end of arcs - and I’m sure your other great commenters will flag you down for the rare post credit scene where you should ignore this advice

Jet Man

The breath holding came up in Golden Kamuy when we met the long hair pirate guy.

Critz

I disagree with this. The openings and endings are so hype and good. It would be such a shame to skip them just because "maybe he'll figure out who X or Y is" or whatever. If they show a character in the ending, for example, he won't know who or what that character is until we get introduced to them anyway. So yeah, I say just blast the crap out of the openings and endings 😂

Cody

Yeah people are tripping this shit takes off like a 🚀

Even though I said before that the 1999 is better in my opinion, you made the right choice in watching the 2011 version. You would be quite behind the story in the 1999. Old animes were usually very slow paced compared to more modern ones and I think you wouldn't like not as close as much as you are enjoying right now. Even me, that loves 1999 version, am kinda bored in the Hunter Exam Arc. In the future, in certain scenes and fights on the 2011, I will post youtube links in the comments so you can watch the same scene in the 1999 version, just so you can see whats what in the 1999 version.

ZombieWolf2508

I feel like the people that think the future parts are more boring and less enjoyable are probably the types of people who watch anime for over the top fights and flashy animation rather than the writing and story. HxH is really good and I dont see any of the future arcs boring you, even in the slower bits.

Openings don't spoil anything if you don't have the context for what they're showing. For all Tony knows, the squeaky rats could be the main villain of the show. We all watched the openings when we watched things for the first time and it didn't ruin anything. People don't know how to separate their knowledge after watching the show with the knowledge of the person reacting. You saying he should skip them because they might have spoilers is spoiling more than if he just watched them.

Isaac Noël

a beautiful little detail to highlight the attention to small details in this story: Ponzu moves her finger in a figure 8 motion when commanding her bees to return, mimicking the kind of movements bees in real life actually use to communicate the location of resources to the hive.

I gotta say watching these reactions are pure joy. I love both good stories and music. This whole reaction project is very valuable.

JoeyGuy7

Bruh you know this aired on TV and people still loved the show right. Kids weren't closing their eyes when the opening came on, they were singing along and getting hyped lol

JoeyGuy7

I think the only slow part is the part right after for the opposite reason lol (tower arc). Too many fights and too much exposition. BUT by that point the show had earned my trust so I knew it would pick back up

Critz

Btw, please be careful about spoilers in the comments. Even things that might seem minor, like mentioning a future “tower” or saying that an upcoming part has “too many fights,” can affect the viewing experience for people who are still in the Hunter Exam arc. They’re going into the next part completely blind, so it’s better not to hint at future locations, arcs, or what the pacing/content is going to be like. (reply to JoeyGuy7)
