I love the build up of the shadow beasts from last episode into them getting absolutely facerolled in this ep lol. This isn't mentioned or explained or anything, but I like to imagine the shadow beasts are just some completely average nen users who live in a world of non-nen users (aka the mafia) so even tho they're kinda shit compared to real mfers like the troupe. They're treated like some big scary force in the world of the mafia Also yikes that ear cleaning story 😬

1999 lover here. I really tried finding Uvogin vs Shadowbeats fight in the 1999 version but no luck. Only found 1 video of it but the dub is Tagalog so its very weird LOL. But don't worry! There are 2 fights I'm waiting for you to watch in this arc that I will absolutely post the link of it! I'm really enjoying watching Endless here!

I got fungal infection in my right ear once and that shit was terrifying to live with and to treat… it’s the fear of not being able to hear half the world just constantly on your mind. From then I’ve been trying to minimize wearing ear/headphones

It might be because the 1999 series is out of print and currently unlicensed. It did get an English dvd release in the mid-2000s complete with an english dub. But even if that's not the reason why you'd be surprised how many long clips and full episodes of anime are on YouTube that don't get copyright struck, even though they definitely should. The entirety of the 1999 series both in Japanese with English Subtitles, and the official English dub, as well as the 3 OVA sequel series that were never licensed in English, are also uploaded on YouTube as well.

Kurapika was always my favorite character from the 1999 series. Going strong in the 2011 series as well.
