The creator played the koto seriously from age 3 to middle school. Her mother is a koto teacher and her sister is a professional koto player. The mother and sister composed and played many pieces heard in the anime as well. The creator initially didn't understand the beginner struggles of learning the insturment, so she gets advice from her family to try to depict it better.
