Project Kamp weekahead #142 (Patreon)

Hey friends,

This week we bring you the final stage of the Fridgebox. We added all the furniture 🪑 needed to make it a nice place to live 🔑. And to be honest, it's been a lengthy process: started after Season 4 and finished this spring. In between you already saw the moving and the entrance platform (update #140).

Overall it's been a journey into finding ways to make a more sustainable home 🏠♻️:

• Saving an old trailer from the scrapyard, with a very useful structure and isolation that otherwise would go to waste, polluting the environment with fiber glass and insulation foam.

• Renovating the interior with reused wood paneling, recycled plastic sockets and light switches, and restored windows and doors.

• Second-hand furniture, upcycled bedsheet curtains, and countertop and shelves made from Precious Plastic.

It's hard to find newly purchased items in this house... maybe electricity cables, silicone, screws and that sort of stuff. This results in a very low energy usage and material footprint compared to what is typical for building a house. 🌍 And what is even more important, all the building process is documented in our research module. This allows to try it themselves or find new solutions for this approach to vehicle conversion. 📝 That really feels like PK mission.
