Hola Patreons, 3 days to the launch of Fixing Fashion and have still a big question mark regarding the landing page.

As you know the landing page is about the most important part of a website. That's where you retain or lose your new visitors. It is crucial for the success of a project. And with Fixing Fashion we are unsure about the combination of models to be featured.

We want to make sure we balance gender, race, body type, hype-ness (don't wanna make it too cool) and kind of repair/fix.

We could do with some help choosing the most appropriate one. Below are the options:

Thank you and 🤞🤞🤞 for the launch!

1 - unbalance to black, 2 - unbalance to white, 3 - harmony.

Makes sense, even though you could also see number 3 slightly unbalanced towards white. Thanks for your input 💪

To be honest, I don't think any of them are good. As Max mentioned, the first 2 are unbalanced, and the third one depicts a white male facing forward while a black female turns her back to the camera, it could give the wrong message (black = rejected, white = accepted). You might think I'm overthinking it, but you know the society we live in. Leaving that aside, from an aesthetics perpective, the black girl looks stunning in pictures 2 and 3, but the white guy just feels weird, like he's uncomfortable.

Hi Mattia, thats just the first row of the landing page so, besides the fine pic adjustment on that, i would say that it would be nice to get some more of the "broken" and "fixing" concept down the scroll, cause, if i didn't know nothing about the project, i see mostly just the fashion part of the idea on that screen...

Eatenribs

I don't like any of them. Can you design something that actually communicates that the project is fun and environmentally conscious?

Max Bosoy

Makes sense! It is better for models to smile and be in nature, rather than indoors.

Hey Ronald, of course.. right below the hero section there is a video explaining everything in details plus a step by step narrative on how we'll have a go at tackling the problems the fashion industry creates. And yes, the idea is to hook visitors with similar language to what they're used to on normal fashion websites but as they dig deeper they (hopefully) understand the twist.

I don't like any of them. Landing on that page I still have no friggin clue what the project is about. Vertical text is hard to read and easily ignorable, especially when it's on top of the model like in options 1 and 3. The tag "fashion is broken, let's fix it together" is small, way off in the bottom corner like somebody forgot to put the real message in the big white space, and still doesn't actually tell me what you think you can possibly "fix" about "fashion". In option 1, the model has text on her face. That makes it seem like neither the text nor the model is important enough that you want us to see it. In option 3, the dude looks like he's posing for a middle school class photo and just wants to go home now.

Oh, hey, there actually is information in the micro white type in the bottom bar. I literally did not see it because my brain is trained to register that space as "where the fine print goes." As best I can tell, that's the only hint that this project has anything to do with repair or re-use.

Wouldn't it be better if somehow the graphic design communicated "together"? Two people standing alone in white boxes does not suggest that there is anything social about whatever you're doing.

Hey Colin, thanks for your feedback. Thanks for your critical feedback, very useful. That's the kind of feedback that helps us forward. A lot of it makes sense, however, it came a bit too late to change the whole concept upside down. Our goal with Fixing Fashion is to play by the visual rules of the fashion industry and grab the attention of usual fashion people and eventually get them into fixing and repairing rather than consuming mindlessly.
