Hey friends

Here some winter updates from the Kamp! The nights have been getting chilly and the days are short but sunny.  The pig trailers is holding up very well and gives a nice comforting warm space with the wood stove inside.  Heat stays long inside as well, so good old-textile insulation :)

The grass on the swales is growing nice and green. It's pretty good to see after each rainfall the swale actually retaining the water. Looking forward to see all the trees growing in spring time

Some areas have really dense firm grass, others not really. Hopefully this will balance eachother out overtime, probably next time we need to spread our seeds a bit more precise

Also the grass around the new pond has been growing well and the waterlevel has been going up. It's getting pretty close to the overflow, we have some more rain coming up in the coming week, curious to see if we manage to reach that water level.

And remember (Update #84) those mimosa trees that we took the bark off to see if they slowley die? Its now pretty clear to see that they are struggeling compare to the normal one. The field we debarked is dying out. Hopefully it will also prevent them to resprout. Lets see

Whenever there is a good wind you hear the Mimosa trees breaking and falling down. The only downside is that our toilets are close to that debarked patch. So a few already fell on top, now we need to fix a bit that can roof. Makes Javier very happy
And less people in the Kamp seems to give more space for other creatures to live here. We've been having a nest of mice in our storage container/ They seem to like our food and chew holes in the tents. So we got a few mouse traps to catch them in a friendly way and bring them to the other side of the creek.

And finally. The sunny days also allow for some brushcutting. Chopping some spiky bushes in the middle land. Still a lot to explore here! Specially nice these days to free all the oak trees that are overgrown with mimosa and brumbles.

Thats it for now. Hope you're having a good calm winter and enjoying the Christmas time with friends and family. 🎄
