Madmanmarz1981

Alright ! It's Tuesday , which means BoB. And the final episode as well. I have seen some folks post that there is a "second season" that takes place in the Pacific , and that does sound very interesting. Although I would love to see some War/Combat films for a few weeks before the Pacific show. (Pulling for Black Hawk Down and Hamburger Hill personally.)But , you know we'll be here for the watch whatever you decide Sir. Ok, lets see how they end this. Peace

Beaches

The Pacific and Band of Brothers are filmed the same way however the Pacific takes place obviously in the Pacific theater of war during WW2 following characters of the Marine Corp. Both miniseries are produced by the same team which include Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Gary Goetzman and explore the realities of war through a personal lens. This is technically season two of Band of Brothers so If you want to keep the ride going after Band of Brothers with the same vibe and dopamine kick as a history buff craves defiantly start Pacific next.

TigerMyth

I never watched the Pacific. Seems that people don't talk about it as much or at all. From Earth To the Moon is a GREAT mini series that should be on your radar.

TigerMyth

Lol. chromatic aberration. I knew you were going to break out that old chestnut.

Annnd we're done. That reaction was 100% Amazing on every level Sir. Powerful , moving , and a visual wonder to behold. And yes , I will be re-watching it as well Sir. My thanks to you and those that requested it. I now know more about my Grandfather and what he went through during the War as well. A heartfelt and honest Thank You to all who serve or have served in the Military. Peace

I forgot Vikings was next! I just hope we get some good melee combat with loads of gore; ]

Denise Mattsen

Ooohh, just recently rewatched Black Hawk Down. I second that for sure!

Denise Mattsen

A few of the were def a part of my childhood. I can't remember their character names expect Lipton who was in New Kids on the Block, but an actor from Hook and Newsies, as well as one from Jurassic Park. Brings me back.

Tyler St Clair

I recommend you watch the documentary attached to the show We Stand Alone together.

Twiska Brand

In real life, Winters took the pistol that officer handed him home with him and kept it all his life. He never fired it and said that it represented peace.

Liam

I'm curious if you will like Vikings hahaha

🎶My mother told me, someday i would buy. Galley with good oars, sail to distant shores. Standing high on the prow, noble bark i steer. Steady course for the haven, hew many foe men, hew many foe men🎶

Guess we will see, a fun series. At least the first 4 seasons. The historical accuracy is poor however😅

Levi

WOO! Cant wait for you to start Vikings. The Pacific is also a very good watch you should react to down the line sometime. The documentary attached to the show We Stand Alone Together you SHOULD definitely 1000% watch, the First 5 episodes of BOB where it has the guys talking at the beginning of each episode are taken from that documentary.

Kemo Brac

Take a look at Adolecence on Netflix. Only four one hour episodes. Very compelling. Also, i believe each episode was shot as one continuous take. Pretty cool

Nptseasand

I can’t recommend generation kill enough. The modern band of brothers.

Teth

Agreed. Another HBO miniseries worth watching

As an aside, since the trailer for the new Tron just dropped, I'd love to hear your photographer's opinion on Tron Legacy. It's often praised especially for its cinematography and visual composition.

ros hamilton

It has been said and ill back it up, The Pacific will give you the exact same feeling. I personally think it is a better show as far as filming and story flow.

Ricky Bobby

It’s been said but I’ll reshare…HBOs “The Pacific” about the marine corps during WWII in Peliu, Guadalcanal, and Okinawa in the Pacific theatre

slimsycentaur37

Yay Sons of Anarchy 2.0 next week! Couldn't be more excited!

Dasypodidae

and not to forget the epic soundtrack

Amy the CheshireCat

I had an amazing time watching my favorite mini series with you sir. i live one mile from the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell KY. They are still heroes, and I am honored to walk down the same streets as them.
