You cut the episode off too early. Right before you paused the video it was revealed that Dexter was recorded on a video camera on the very last scene of this episode where he was cleaning his boat and checking for evidence during his internal monologue. That detail becomes important in the upcoming episode

Alright! It's Dexter Time Again!! I just hope this episode keeps the pace goin. So Dex still has an algae problem , Deb gets a date with clothing on for a change , Doakes has a plate full of mental shit to eat , and what's gonna happen w/Lt now? So many questions... When I was about 18_19 I was going to a job in Naples and my front right tire burst in Alligator alley, I had to walk to the next closest exit to find a gas station to call the union contact to come pick me up. No issues with the Alligators, but it was Hella hot and stressful.

I think Deb is supposed to come across as completely manic. It feels overacted but I thought it was intentional for her character. Kind of like the main character actress from Homeland.

Instead thinking that one of the is wierd versus the other, it could be that your friends are alittle wierd in one way and these people are alittle wierd in the oppsite direction of your friends making the "wierd" gap between them. :-)

Like the character is overacting , not the actor. I feel that could be deb. Deb cab can be intense at times.
