Sucks to say this, but upon reflection I think I need to. I've been in a bit of a rut, though it's largely been invisible thanks to getting more stuff done in advance previously. I was going to have the big F4 update this month, but the problem is that I got backed up in May and haven't really rebounded from that yet. I'm behind on commissions that I had told people would be done by now.

It's so strange, there are times where I can work like crazy and pull off stuff like the 12 Days of Domming or the crazy ass Valentine's special this year, and then there's other times where I can't seem to do anything.

I think what happens is that, when I'm in that productive zone I start acting like it's normal and line up a ton of work with far too much confidence. But it's actually pretty difficult for me to focus on something when there's a bunch of other projects in the back of my mind that also need done. Paradoxically, the more I have on my plate, the less I seem able to do. Need to figure my brain out one of these days...

As it is, I HAVE to focus on a current job and while I'd been intending to do that early enough in the month to leave time for the RPG, that'd mean putting off commissioned stories even more. I really don't want to fall into the trap of just having a commission backlog that goes back eons again. So, I think the only responsible thing is to push what I had planned for June back to July and focus on commissions in the background this month.

With that in mind, I'm also pausing taking new commissions for the time being. I'd already mentioned this on Discord, I really got a lot more than I was expecting, especially in that early wave. Which is really the best problem you can have but still! I took on more than I probably should've because, honestly, I'm never really in the financial position to turn down money...

But yeah, a brief pause there, and like before I'll open it up once I've gotten everything finished. It'd be a good idea to give myself a soft deadline for this, maybe they can open back up in September...

The good news is that if I can achieve this, I should have a good backlog of content to post for the next few months, and give myself enough buffer to work on bigger stuff more comfortably. Just need to take this month to get everything in order.

Hey, it's all good. Sometimes after a burden of work all you can do is sit back and regain your drive. Burnout happens to us all, there's no shame in knowing you have to step back and give yourself some breathing room.

It’s understandable to have setback moments like these. I myself have had plenty of times where suddenly can’t keep up with myself. It’s important to remember that you’re not alone and breaks are allowed. Making that peace with yourself will allow you to come back better than ever
