Kenma doesn't like "guts" because he doesn't believe you can just "try hard". You can obviously do but he thinks it like "chance favors the prepared", you gotta do what needs to be done BEFORE trying hard on court, otherwise its meaningless. Thats why he is saying "Its like an ultimate I can't use" because he is very self-concious, he doesn't believe he trained hard enough to deserve calling himself "I am trying hard". Thats why Yamamoto's perspective is valuable, as someone works his ass off, he is calling out Kenma in his mind, saying "even though you are who you are, you do your best and not give up on any practice, even when no coach or player watching you".
