The people viewing the Superbowl at home are watching for the cost of a monthly cable/streaming fee. The fans attending payed thousands of dollars even for nosebleed tickets. I understand more people watch from home, but the people who, in a lot of cases, saved up to attend a once in a lifetime event were double shafted: a boring game and a subpar halftime performance. And one of the best/most theatrical performances of all time? Are we forgetting about The Weeknd’s performance??? 10x more theatrical and 1000x better performance.

didn’t the weeknds also have some set design that was also only viewed on TV? him running through a bunch of mirrors or something. but yeah I get what you mean, we paid $20 to watch it, these folks are paying thousands. but at the same time I’m sure a lot of them are mostly there for the game. the halftime show is usually to bring in the casual viewers who might not have watched the game

I completely agree. I only bring up the Weeknd’s performance as a counter to Kevin’s take that the Bad Bunny performance was the most theatrical and entertaining halftime performance of all time. The production quality and the artist performances are nowhere near the same level. But at the end of the day, it’s all personal preference and this is just my opinion.

I agree, howeverI wasn’t saying the weeknd’s show was better for the live attendees. Just bringing up imo a clearly more theatrical and skillful performance.

i didn’t realize “you’re gonna go far” was on the deluxe, so sad i didn’t get to hear y’all’s reaction to it, moving away from my hometown was a big step for me and the one thing my parents agreed on was for me to get out of town and see the world, something they both never really got the chance to do, that song resignaties with me so much and heals so many feelings of guilt i had with moving, i always get emotional, would love to see a reaction from you guys!
