I dont care what people say. I loved this episode because of azula. I feel like it showed her real feelings though she brushed it off with a snarky remark. Like as kid she felt so disconnected from her mother that she looked towards her father for guidance that she grew up painted in his own image. Personally I stopped liking azula and zukos mother after I read the comics of what happened to her. Made me feel for azula even more. She could have been a totally different type of person

Maybe this is just a broad and subjective observation, but you guys really don't seem to find interest in the antagonists of this story. The majority of the Avatar fan-base regards this episode as one of the best in the series, for it dives into the past of the 'enemies' and fleshes out these characters in an emotional way. The amazing thing about this series is that it develops both the protagonists and antagonists to a considerable extent and presents mature psychological themes through these characters to engage the audience. Personally, I find Zuko and Azula's backstories/emotions/appearance/actions more compelling than Team Avatar, but that is obviously my subjective opinion as well. But I still find myself enjoying their adventures just as much as the Fire Nation Royalty's adventures.
