Hey Folks!

This week I was off filming a project for the American Kennel Club’s Canine College. It was super fun! But also, long days, so that means there won’t be a new video this week.

But don’t worry, I’ll have a new one out for ya next week!

Now CoolWhip and I are headed for some bubble tea and chill time 🧋😎

Have a great weekend everyone!

I will take the video down time to rewatch some of the previous videos - you see, I just got my service dog prospect! His name is Elvis and he is a 9 week old lab. Fun times ahead!

I just picked up my future service dog. He is only 6wks old and a Rottweiler. His mother was not letting them nurse any longer. Is yells to young? Should I wait the other two? I want the best life I can give to this pup. My life will depend on him one day.

Hi Karen! Thank you for joining Patreon! Please note that we have a monthly Live Q&A where I address Patreon questions. The date is announced usually in the second week of the month. This is where those members that are at the "Crew" ($6) level and above can submit a question for me to answer live. You can learn more about what your membership level covers in your welcome note, as well as in the membership tab. That all being said, I did want to address your question because it is time-sensitive. While most mothers ween begin to ween their pups started at between 3 and 4 weeks of age, even if the mom has weened them, the puppies should still remain together and with the parent until at least 8 weeks of age to get the benefits of early socialization with the other puppies and mother. Additionally, it is illegal in many states to sell a puppy before 8 weeks of age. If possible, I would have your puppy go back with the breeder until at least 8 weeks of age.

Karen Hendrickson

He was not from a breeder. I did not know till I had gotten him home. They will not take him back.

Then you do the best you can from where you're at! Get them into a puppy socialization class at 8-9 weeks (sign up now so you can get into the first available positive reinforcement class) and work to give them lots of exposure to puppy-appropriate dogs.
