How do I ask you a question about something not related to this subject.

DOGGY•U

Hey Windy! The place to ask an off-topic question is for the live Q&A. You can check your welcome note (membership tab) for specific instructions on submitting a question. The Q&A date is typically announced the first or second week of the month. There will be a post that announced the date of the Q&A and Deep Dive, as well as a call for questions. You will submit your question in the comments. Hope that helps!

How has being on YouTube been for you? Is it hard? A lot to run? Stressful? Etc, I’m a trainer and Kansas and wanting to expand my business and have been thinking about starting YouTube videos of my training to help people and expand my clientele

DOGGY•U

Overall it's hard. But it's also really rewarding, and not so hard that I don't enjoy it. People have been generally so nice to me, and they get a lot out of the videos which is really rewarding on a scale that I couldn't reach in person. If you haven't checked out my video on what I make on YouTube, definitely check it out as it will give you a bit more insight: https://youtu.be/24kFpqy_eNE Quick off-the-top-of-my-head list of pros and cons: Pros: - flexible schedule, location independent - ability to work around my disability - reach and ability to help more people - builds a lovely community - ability to make working with my dogs part of my business model when previously they were sometimes on the back burner - part of a larger web of income streams now that I've been doing it a while - fun creative outlet (you REALLY have to enjoy editing) - if your goal is to drive people to your business it can be really helpful Cons: - yeah, it's really stressful the majority of the time - you work pretty much every day of the week either answering comments, getting content etc. - it's hard to have an off switch and I had to implement a lot of behavioral things to help me with this. - you are in service in some ways to the algorithm which can be challenging if it changes - building a mailing list is really important in case social media changes. - the work is constant - it's best to put out videos once a week and that is just a lot mentally to do and to know you need to keep doing. it's hard to get ahead of it. - emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes i work really really hard on something (especially training videos) and it flops, sometimes i put no time into a short, and it skyrockets. It's really unpredictable and hard to separate yourself/your mood from outcomes that you don't have a ton of control over - people can be really mean/judgemental sometimes and it's hard to forget some of the comments even when you get 50 nice comments to 1 mean one. You're out there. As small a creator as I am, people still have lots of opinions and they're not afraid to share them. - it's just you doing all the things so you need to learn SEO, marketing, video editing etc. all on top of dog training. And also, I wouldn't trade it for anything right now. It's kind of like a "choose your hard" scenario. There's aspects that are hard and also I love what I'm doing and I'm grateful to be doing it. If I won a million dollars, I'd still do this. Hopefully that's helpful!
