Hey Ya'll,
A friend of mine made me aware of this product recently and I'm super pumped to share it with you because I think it could be really useful in a variety of ways regarding task training, reinforcement strategy, pattern games, and mental and physical exercise on days when you just don't have enough spoons, but you've still got an energetic pup!

We talked a bit about food robots in my Deep Dive on Reinforcement Strategy, but the remote treat dispensers that I had used in the past were admittedly pricey for non-professional use. But when I saw this one, I absolutely had to try it out, and great news: It's really good!

You can find the dispenser at my Amazon link here: https://amzn.to/3Meaklv

As always, the video is AD-FREE for Patreon members until publicly released on Friday. Enjoy!

Oh!! Now that's awesome!! I hope to be able to get one soon! Will be great to hook to my rollator, and teach Pistol to BOOP the button that opens doors that are too hard for me to pull open AND try to balance and maneuver my way inside!

I currently own this model as well as the Treat & Train. Unfortunately, this unit malfunctioned after only a few uses. Additionally, for dogs that are noise-sensitive or unfamiliar with such devices, this model presents challenges, as it lacks a remote control to dispense treats for incremental progress toward pressing the button and you can’t shut off the noise. There were also instances where the device failed to dispense treats at all, and as I mentioned earlier, it no longer powers on now. However, if your primary intention is to use it as a remote treat dispenser by manually pressing the button, it serves that purpose mostly.

THanks for sharing Laura. I've been looking for a decent alternative to the treat n train ! love the accessible button for our clients !

That’s a bummer to hear Melanie! I’ve been using it pretty much every day now for a few weeks and have only had the issue of it occasionally not dispensing treats, but that’s typically only when it’s running low. I owned a treat and train (which I got rid of because it jammed constantly which made it unreliable) and then the old version of the pet tutor, which works well but the way it connects is so incredibly inconvenient and is also just not a realistic spend for any of my clients. I’ve found this one to be much more user friendly. Definitely agree that it would be challenging for noise sensitive dogs. However, I think it could be a really good option for those that can’t afford a higher end model and the button functionality is much more versatile. Hopefully mine continues to work well!

Strapping it to the rollator isn’t the most elegant solution, but it worked pretty well! You should also check out the pet tutor which makes a smaller newer version designed for compatibility with wheelchairs which make be easier to load/unload than what I did with the bungee, which again, not elegant lol. I haven’t personally used it however.

Note Melanie’s comments above. Mine has been really reliable so far, but just wanted to point them out so you saw them. I think it could be a really good affordable alternative to clients if it holds up for any amount of time! My dogs are both loving it and my colleague has been using them with a variety of clients really successfully. Big fan so far!

I have this unit, and I used it to teach hitting the accessibility door button. I attached the button to the wall. I then grabbed a cheap square anti-fatigue mat, cut out a hole in the center of the mat, and put the mat over the button to protect your wall.

Laura … YOU ROCK! I’m absolutely gonna order one of these dispensers as soon as my pension check hits the checking account … and I’m using the affiliate link too, so you, Whip, and Jake can get more biscuits, kibble, doggie toys, or Momma toys. BTW, I wore my Doggy U T-shirt and carried Sophie’s “doggy bag” in our Doggy U grocery sack to the Abilities Expo in Houston a couple weeks ago. It was Sophie’s first real big outing since she found us in February … she proudly wore her “Service Dog In Training” vest as we went around the exhibits on my 5Star Scooter. Ms. “Overreactive-Jumpy-Pants” Sophie really did so well! Very few jumping attempts, and almost no barking ‘cept when she got within 15 feet of other working dogs … then she wanted to play and make friends! Several people stopped to ask what breed Sophie is, and she got compliments about how pretty she is, how good she was behaving, and I definitely mentioned Doggy U in the conversations. It was a great day, and Super-Service-Dog-In-Training Sophie, her other Momma Cecilia, and Momma “Me” were exhausted … after the 100-mile trip to our home in the country, we all slept real good! Thank you again Laura for testing this product and creating a great video … I know you have been reading my comments to several of your videos … and this video “boops my like button”, LOLOL!

I really want to see how to do a drop into a down on command using this. Didn't quite understand!
