First, thank you to all of you who attended live and were so kind. You made talking about this so much less scary than it felt when I was preparing to talk about this publicly.

This deep dive is all about an issue that cropped up with CoolWhip when she had an acute shiny floor incident that quickly generalized to other shiny flooring. I talk about what I did immediately following the incident, what I did the days following, the month after, and then my training plan to address the issue, along with the outcome.

Hopefully this personal case study is helpful.

Thank you for your continued support, even when I have to say hard things. I appreciate you. <3

P.S. Sorry for all the coughing. I promise I wasn't coughing like that before the live or I would have postponed. Oops!

awwwww... poor lil Whip-ster! AND YOU!! Stressful for sure! But so glad you shared. Someone will benefit from this in the future.. if not now. So thrilled you get to help whelp out your pup-pup!! How dang exciting is that gonna be! You'll get to do the hands on imprinting neuro stimulation stuff you'd do if it were happening at your house! (You'll just have no muss and no fuss with a big litter! 😉)

Thanks so much for sharing. Bert is retired due to reactivity to dogs that suddenly popped up which we are working on with training. The ultimate goal is for him to have a happy less stressed life, and if he can return to work that's just an added bonus. So I understand the feelings you are going through. I also wanted to tell you about the Drone Mobile remote car starter which is connected to your cell phone and you can remote start from anywhere. You can run your car for 25 minutes and then when it shuts off restart it. I've even unlocked my car from an airplane to let a mechanic in. May not be a situation you find yourself in again, but it's nice to have.

This was wonderful. And so hard to share!! Thank you!! Makes me feel human. You did great working on it. Huge hugs to all!!!!

Thanks Robin! I actually pay for an app with my Toyota that I can remote start for 10 minutes from anywhere and set the temp and do that twice, but without also having a temperature monitor like a Waggle (which I plan to get for my new van) I would be uncomfortable trusting it. I need a backup system to feel comfortable using it out of sight and even then, in this particular case I wouldn’t really have a way to fix it if the system did fail because I would have been trapped on the bus. But I do use it in certain scenarios. Thank you for the suggestion!!

Haha yes it will be so neat! And I’ll be returning a week before pickup to get to spend more time with them. I’m very lucky!

Thanks so much for being vulnerable and willing to share such a tough topic! Its really valuable to hear how you handled a real-life issue. Your love and respect for Whip is admirable and she is so lucky to have a handler who cares about her wellbeing so much. She is one spoiled Lemur.
