On Monday I showed you how I train leg weaves with treats. Here's an alternative method with discs, as long as your pup has a strong out.

Technically, this training session is mechanically kind of garbage: Denver is a bit confused at the outset as he thinks I'm going to roll the disc out in front so he's leading out. In hindsight, to minimize confusion, I could have started him on a platform so he was lined up correctly for the first rep.
Also, my markers are just all over the place. Technically, I should have lured him through and cued "strike" (though as I type this I'm realizing I might not have introduced that word yet since he's so young in this video...). In any event, point is, sometimes you can do a technically deficient session, and it's totally fine as long as your dog is having fun and learning despite my shortcomings lol!

So cool to see how this is trained with discs! Still getting a great “wrapping” pattern! I enjoy watching how you always make training super fun for Denver. You are his biggest cheering section! (Since he can’t hear us.) ;-) Thank goodness and glad to hear, for myself, that technically deficient sessions can still be totally fine. 🙄

Who makes the light blue dog bowl near the cone in your training room? I see it here in the video. I want one… have looked but haven’t found it!!

Ughhh this is an old style ruffwear bowl and they don’t make them anymore and it makes me so sad because they’re a great bowl that doesn’t tip easily. I also have a toadfish bowl that suctions to the ground on hardwood floors that doesn’t tip.
