Hey Everyone!

Quick little 5 minutes session re-introducing the button and out of sight retrieve. Like I've mentioned before, I eventually dropped the button, but I think it's good to see where I add the "paw" cue in the loop.

Have a great day and Happy Training!

It’s incredibly valuable to watch an expert trainer model shaping and deal with interruptions (like when Jake comes home). It sounded like you said the battery light would be for when she is in her crate. Not sure what you meant by that. Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah so originally, if you go wayyyy back to my first videos about training this, I intended to teach her to alert me with a button in her crate when she was riding in the car. However, due to a change in employment, I didn't need that type of alert anymore so I scrapped it. It was still a good way to solidify pawing as a desirable behavior. :)

Aha. Thanks for the clarification. I’m often In the mode of trying to extinguish pawing as an unwanted artifact of “nose”—as in “nose the door closed,” or “smoosh.” This would be a great way, I think, to put “paw” on cue as a separate and distinct behavior from “nose.” I love how dainty Whip is. Gotta love a gentle dog—except when you need a bruiser-? ;-

This is amazing! I think I will give the buttons a try (thinking on what we discussed in our session regarding the behavior to have my dog to “tell me “ to go out. ) They are not bulky and I can take them with me when traveling. Any thoughts?

I think this is a great idea! Just take the batteries out when you travel or your luggage will be saying "that was easy" or more likely "let's go outside" at weird times lol!
