Service Dog 101 is the course I felt like I just HAD to make first, when I started thinking about making my own courses.

I get asked so many questions about the process of beginning a service dog journey.

THIS is the course that answers all the questions you have (and the ones you didn't know to ask!) when you start your service dog journey.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone starting on their service dog journey, or anyone who wants to feel confident talking about and navigating the world of service dogs.

And although this course was made for owner-trainers, this course can also serve as a primer for current pet dog trainers interested in offering service dog training in the future.

When You Finish This Course You Will:

·     Understand service dog etiquette at restaurants, hotels, rideshares, and more!

·     Know how to choose a service dog breeder and service dog prospect.

·     Know your rights under the ADA, FHA, and ACAA

·     Feel confident advocating for those rights as a service dog handler.

·     Know where you can and can’t go with your service dog.

·     Be able to navigate public spaces and interactions with your service dog.

·     Create a task list that you can train your service dog to do to mitigate your disability.

·     Know what to expect when training your service dog including timeline, costs, & goals.

·     Be able to talk intelligently about service dogs to your friends, family, and the public.

·     Know how to choose a trainer or training class to help you along your SD journey.

·     Be able to self-assess your service dog candidate.

What's a Pre-Sale?

At this point, I've outlined and written the entire curriculum for Service Dog 101 based on YOUR recommendations and questions! I've also begun filming/voiceover process with a few of the first lessons, already released! The target full release date for the course is October 20th, just a month or so away!

Offering the course for pre-sale gives me the ability to raise funds to cover the necessary costs that creating a course requires (and it's way more than I expected!), and gives you a sneak peek of the course as I pre-publish completed sections! It also gives me a chance to thank you, my Patreon folks, for making it possible for me to make these courses, with a BIG DISCOUNT! Please note that this discount is only available during the pre-sale and that the base-price of the course will go up on October 20th.

40% Pre-Sale Discount! Use code PATREON40

Important: Please do not share this code with anyone outside of Patreon. Doing so will make it so that I can't offer these benefits to my Patreon folks on future courses. My Patreon supporters will ALWAYS receive the best discount available. I appreciate you more than you know <3

It should be up above now too! Everything should be up on the main website in a few weeks - just need to get back from Iceland and meet with my website guy :)

Valerie

Is this limited to a certain number of sign ups? I ask because I need to wait a few days before I can sign up but I really wanna take advantage of the class

DOGGY•U

Nope! Just need to sign up before October 20th. It’s a self-paced course so no cap on enrollment. I might be doing other types of courses in the future but this one is self-study, no cap :)

Lorraine Conterio

Looks good but there needs to be a cheaper version (plus discount) that doesn't have the law section for those in other countries. I am in the UK.

DOGGY•U

Hey Lorraine - I saw your original comment (looks like you edited it) asking if the course might still be useful for you and will give you more info on that below. Honestly, this course is very much under market price at $58 with the Patreon discount. The price of the course after the presale will be $150, which is still under market value. Topics covered that you might feel are useful for you are below (US law section omited). I think you'll find that it's $58 well spent. Service Dog Qualities – Self Assessment

Lisa Lumbert

I am super excited for this class! I do have a couple quick questions. will this be a live seminar, or watch at your “convenience” ? Also, is it required to have a letter from a LMHP to go with your paperwork?

DOGGY•U

Hi Lisa! So glad you're excited! This is a self-paced course. No paperwork is required for any of my courses - this is a self-study program for anyone interested in learning more about service dogs, not just those that want to pursue a service dog for themselves. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Lisa Lumbert

I did not explain myself well, I’m sorry. My question about the “paperwork” is pertaining to being “questioned” about my dog and being “allowed” places and the need to “prove”. There are a couple of places that I know will give me trouble and just want to be prepared! I first saw you on YouTube and your video on flying was extremely helpful and well done. Also, thanks for such a quick response!

DOGGY•U

I definitely talk more about this in the course but paperwork is not required under the ADA. It may be required for employment accommodations, or under the FHA, which I go over a bit in the course. But not for public access.

Lisa Lumbert

It would be for public access. Thank and look forward to learning more.

Just Me

I just got it. Thank you! Super excited for this.

Melanie Wonneberger

For how long after one starts will they have access to the course?

DOGGY•U

2 years from date of purchase. So plenty of time to go through it and then refer back to it as needed.
