IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING REWARD TIERS

If you’re getting this message, you’re someone who’s followed us to check out our game, Future Fragments.

The release of the game is finally, FINALLY coming up in Summer 2022, provided nothing crazy happens ( you can read more about that over at https://rentry.co/summer2022 ), but that’s only part of why I’m messaging you today.

Back around November 2021 and again in March 2022, we closed off the $10 “Name in Background” and $5 “Name in Credits” tier rewards respectively, to new people wanting that reward.

We did this because we thought the game was coming out soon, and we wanted time to prepare the credits for the game as well as check people’s names for any issues that would prevent us from putting them in the game.

However, as we’ve now moved the release date to sometime before Summer 2022 ends, we felt we should re-open those rewards retroactively.

MAIN POINT OF THE MESSAGE HERE

From now until June 30th, 2022, we’ve re-opened the rewards for the $5 and $10 tiers if you’d like to get your name in the credits or in the background.

If you’ve ever pledged once at the $5 or $10 tiers, and you haven’t gotten an email from me about getting your name in the credits/background respectively, then reply to this DM and let me know.

I’ll then message you back and send you an email (or forward you the one I sent you in the past that you might have had go into your spam mail) asking what name you want in the credits, so we can have it down in our own records, as messages from Patreon are a lot easier to lose than ones in our email.

Additionally, this of course means if you HAVEN’T ever backed us at the $5 or $10 tiers, June 30th, 2022 would be the last date to do so to get those rewards, for real this time.

EXTRA NOTE

Some of you getting this have already had your name entered into the $10 and/or $5 tiers through emails we’ve sent you, so this entire message is irrelevant to you.

If that’s the case, I’m sorry for annoying you with this; Patreon doesn’t really have a way for me to send messages to people who’ve specifically already backed at a given tier, they only let me do it for cumulative pledges and current tier that you’re at.

So we’ve made a version that has a few bugfixes;

• Boss crash bug fixed
• Powerup capsules can now be opened by pressing Up on them and have a prompt as well
• Multiple maps with visual bugs now fixed
• Minimap/megamap works properly after fighting the boss

Recently we made the choice to release this particular demo we’ve been working on to everyone who’s EVER pledged to this game, even if they aren’t currently pledging; future demos are still $5, but we wanted to do something neat this time around.

The reason for this message is because I wanted to alert all of you that October will be the last month we’ll be taking replies to the emails for the $10 backer name-in-background rewards for Future Fragments, as the game will be coming out in the next few months.

If you’ve backed at the $10 tier before, and did NOT get an email from me, please reply to this message (or DM me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/hentaiwriter).

However, if you did get a “reward questionnaire” from me before and you answered with what name you wanted in the background, you’re good to go (unless you wanted to change your name, which there’s still time to do so if so!)

And if you haven’t backed at the $10 tier before, to be clear on what you’d get;

There’s a specific, major plot point in the game where your name would be connected to it and visible in the background of a level as part of that major plot point.

So, if you wanted that, you’ll need to do the $10 tier just once on Patreon before October’s over.

Patreon has recently done some changes to its messenger system for creators, and uh, it’s broken things pretty badly.

Luckily, I’d already started a database of backer rewards/requests years and years ago, so it doesn’t affect us for the most part, but if any of you are backing other people, have some sympathy for them if their systems weren’t backed up like ours and try to be understanding if they take longer to message you this month (or the next).

The point of this message is something else related to messages though;
If you were a backer in November and you were at the $5 level in November and you did NOT get the mass DM I sent out with v0.48v2, please reply to this message (or let me know on Discord).

There’s apparently an error in the system that was found out by my good friend Anon42 of Crisis Point (go check his game out at https://anon42.itch.io/crisis-point-extinction-2019-public-demo ; if you like Future Fragments you’ll likely like his game too!).

Basically, when I sent the DM out, I selected for it to be sent to all tiers at $5 and up.

However, the system may have registered that some people didn’t meet the $5 total if they were using non-USD currency, for example, pledging €4.50 instead of $5 USD, although both values would get you the $5 tier.

So yeah, if you didn’t get v0.48v2 and you were pledging at the demo tier in November (but aren’t now), please let me know and I’ll send you it ASAP!

If you’re getting this message, at one point, you pledged at the $5 tier for our game, Future Fragments.

The reason I’m sending you this message is because we’re wrapping up development, and we need to confirm all of the $5 “name in the credits” reward names by April 1st (no, it’s not an April Fools joke).

On our end, we’ve got a database setup that has the information people who’ve replied to the questionnaire we send out for the $5 reward tier…

…but unfortunately, for mass messages on Patreon, it’s indiscriminate with who’s getting messaged.

So if you backed us for $5 at any point, AND you got an email from us asking what name you wanted in the $5 credits, AND you gave us a name and we confirmed it was in, then you have no need to reply to this message; you’re all good! (Or if you rejected the reward, but emailed us to say so)

However, if you DIDN’T get a $5 credits email from us asking what name you’d like in the credits, please reply to this message.

Currently, there are over 5,000+ people who have NOT replied to the reward, so it’s highly likely that most of you getting this haven’t replied to it.

GOOD NEWS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DIDN’T WANT/COULDN’T GET THE GAME ON STEAM;

We’ve decided to release it on Itch.io at launch, too.

Now granted, there’s two caveats to this;

• The game itself will have achievements built-in regardless of platform, but it’ll only get Steam Achievements, on Steam, of course

• Steam copies of the game will automatically update themselves on your computer whenever we do bugfixes or add in extra content, but if you get it on Itch, you’ll need to manually look to see if there’s been an update, and then download the update yourself

We’ve updated the original form to reflect this change, and for those of you who already filled it out and selected “Steam” or “other platform” or “send it to me directly”, here’s a new form you can fill out.
