Hello Angels! 🦢

So we probably all already knew Bloom's iconic dress, it is not something I would choose myself but I like it nonetheless! I wanted to keep the episode believable, as if it really happened in canon, which is why I decided to go for her original dress. But you best believe I'll be designing new outfits and gowns for Bloom very soon, and you'll be the first to see them 👀

Now for the star of the evening, Valtor haha. I'm so happy everyone liked the outfit I made for him! I was a little scared it would be too "out-of-character" and people would prefer his outfit from the show, but everyone seemed to like this one even more than the original aaah 🥰

I remember scrolling Pinterest for hours to find the perfect references, I was looking for something princely but nothing too over the top. I referenced many other webtoons, specifically the ones where there's a duke or a king as the main character and looked at what they were wearing. I found it was mostly capes, high boots, and a structured tight-fitting top piece; showing off those broad shoulders hehe. I merged all these into something new and decided to make it a little more spicy by showing some chest and rolling up the sleeves. I still wanted his outfit to be more casual than a real prince. Sky's outfit, for example, was a little too proper and princely. I wanted there to be a clear distinction between him and Valtor in this regard. To tie in Valtor's original outfit I made the inside of his cape a burgundy colour like his coat and kept his dark blue gloves. Many people thought his outfit was black in the episode, but it's actually a dark reddish brown, also derived from the burgundy in his coat.

The embroidery details on his jacket are little symbols I came up with on the spot, some of them look a bit like flames and swirls of magic. I didn't want it to be too on the nose though, so I kept it rather subtle.

His hair was a last-minute addition that worked out brilliantly haha. The slicked-back hair on only one side was just the perfect addition to this outfit! It keeps the original spirit of his hairstyle while also making it a little more special for a ball.

I want to try out more hairstyles for Valtor in the future, a ponytail is most definitely on my to-do list 😤
