Diane has become an unwilling sidekick to Australian adventurer Henry Harmon in her attempt to retrieve a valuable ancient artefact from  a billionaire's private collection. Sneaking into the grounds, and desperately trying to keep her savage alter-ego in check, Diane and Henry are confronted by an alligator that patrols the grounds like a guard dog!

(Spot the homage to a certain scene from the 80's Savage She-Hulk comic!)

Classic she hulk scenario!

Confidente100

The real question: "Why is she is wearing fancy clothes in this place?" XD

Lambic998

Love how dark her hair is here as she changes. Makes her character easier to distinguish.

Manic

I'm still figuring that one out! My idea is that the raid on the evil collectors compound is being done on the fly and Diane has come directly from an event or situation that requires her to dress that way.

Terry

Maybe the billionaire was hosting some kind of fancy shindig and she was on the guest list because he likes her books? Henry is looking for the same artifact and convinces her (reluctantly) to work together. She then snuck away and helped Henry onto the grounds because only he can identify the artifact they're both looking for. Kind of a mashup of a few scenes from "Romancing the Stone" and Kasumi's Mass Effect 2 DLC infiltrating Donovan Hock's party. The callback to that scene in issue #7 of "Savage She-Hulk" is a lot of fun and very well done, and it has a bit of a special meaning for me as that issue was my introduction to that version of the character. So, seeing Diane changing into Cavegirl (but with an unsuspecting guy with somewhat of a misogynist attitude) in homage is extra fun.

Manic

I love it!!! Great stuff, Terry! That issue was one of my faves also

Confidente100

Once again, your talent at creative writing shines through, Terry. Thank you for this explanation! My only regret is that I'll probably never get an original copy of the very first She-Hulk comic book issues. :-)

Manic

I bought them all back in the 90s when they were cheap as chips. I held off buying issue 1 though because I didn't want to pay £5 (roughly $7) for a comic! What a fool I was!

Confidente100

As a Japanese saying goes, "Only a fool would buy a three inch koi, and only a fool would sell one." I find it very applicable to the market for art. The problem is...we make the trade-off all the time! XD

Flash Gorgon

Nothing personal against Mike Vosburg when I say you blow his art out of the water!

Manic

Hahaha, you are too kind but I'm nothing like as good an artist as Mike Vosburg

A Ed

Since the character of Diane is supposed to be a character set during the 90s it makes sense she would encounter characters inspired by the pop culture of that era.

Musical Euphoria

Cavegirl seems to hulkout of any fright to cover up Diane being scared, fearing it could show weakness.
