The way I read it is that Momoi and Aomine have known each other since they were kids so it's more of a brother and sister relationship. She knows how he acts so she can't leave him alone. But that's just the way I read it, others may read it differently. Also, these episodes, the zone introduction, is where to me, the true Kuroko no Basket show starts.

As for the who momoi likes, it has been clearly stated multiple times that she loves kuroko. she and aomine are childhood friends that are basically almost like siblings in terms of closeness, so she is basically his babysitter here

imagine what it feels like waiting for the episodes coming out weekly and being left on a cliffhanger when this was originally got released. i havent felt that for kuroko no basket but i could only imagine what it felt like through out the whole series waiting with cliffhanger after cliffhanger at certain points
