The meaning of life is.... Orange flavored Tang 🍊

TK

This is an anime, where Hideaki Anno, just put everything he liked into it, Mechs, Angels, Etc... and proceeded to have a mental breakdown whilst he was working on this, so its kind of less of an anime and more of a look into the authors psyche... the rebuilds is the author coming back to evangelion with a better mindset, but technically EVERYTHING is Canon... and this is why I like evangelion, because its just a man who found a outlet to pour all his raw feelings into... i completely understand why people dislike it or even hate it because its kind of a round house kick of "WTF".

I have watched eva multiple times and i still don't understand no shit, It's not that you not smart enough Joe XD

Trust me, for a specific kind of person, eva can be life changing, but if you haven't felt similar things then its just confusing and makes no sense

Joe, you are not alone, so don't feel bad. Many people are confused by the series even with this new ending, including me. If haven't already and you are really curious, check some of the online analyses of the series. One I suggest is a YouTube video called "Evangelion Explanation in 7 MINUTES!!!" on the Evangelion Analysis Project Channel on YouTube.

No don't worry, i LOVE Eva and i understood jack shit on my first watch. I went the extra mile and read/watched supplementary materials, which allowed me to understand what the actual plot was, but goddamn if it isn't confusing at first. The fact that Anno was ultra depressed both made it harder and also kinda made Eva for what it is, so it is what is is. I actually really like the Rebuild movie, they're both a remake, a continuation and a true ending for the whole saga after like 20 irl years. They're still really confusing and cryptic at moments too (because what would that series be without the spectator going 'i have no idea what's going on'),. At the end of things i believe Eva is the kind of show where what you as an individual *think* the message is is more important than what is showed. Some people love that, others hate it. And that's okay.
