so what happened is that due to the interests of the family, both mom and dad were forced to marry each other...while married, one day they decided to do the thing (i mean not unusual for married couple even if they were forced to marry)...however mom accidentally gets pregnant now i don't understand why they didn't get abortion (maybe family situation again)...but what ended up happening is that they gave birth to a child they didn't want at all (apparently for some reason mom and dad hate each other) and ended up not giving 2 sht for her mom still don't care for her and is looking forward to be done with her as soon as mahiru turns 18 (basically legally adult) but dad looks like hit the realization that he was a sht father and despite his situation, he should've done better....that being said like joe said, he could still put the effort to mend the situation, but it looks like he completely given up on that (tho i don't understand why) bro it's still not too late...you can still fix it bruh 😭

I agree that the dad could still mend his relationship with his daughter. "Better late than never" sort of mentality. While I don't think he'll be forgiven for his past neglect; he could form a new positive relationship with his daughter. By doing so, it could provide healing and a sense of personal growth.
