Great episode for one of the best Cdramas for me. By the way the male lead Liu Yuning (Wei Shao) signs the ending team, he had and amazing voice, he is being known as one of the Kings of OSTs.

Nah, I think I'm the vengeful type too. You betray us and I had to see my family murdered in front of me and you think sending your granddaughter to marry me for an alliance will just let bygones be bygones? No chance in hell. I hope he goes scorched earth on the Qiao clan. But he probably won't. But if he does, how can you try to manipulate a manipulator? By making her believe that you hate how she tries to manipulate you and you're all about being direct and appearing ruthless. And then, when her guard is down, BAM! You let her know she fell into your trap card! The game is AFOOT! This seems like a cool drama. I hope to see a lot more back and forth.

But she was 5 when all this happened. I hate the idea of wiping out entire clans, the servants; the children, the non combatants (even tho everyone did it then).. And it's not like her clan killed his family directly.

Wei Shao is full of hatred towards Qiao Clan, for him they may not be the one who thrust the sword into his family's but they were the instrument that such outcome had happened. Wei Shao is very much a flawed character though, this is like an AOT situation, the hatred become generational even though the one he should only hate is just her grandfather, the final decision came to him. Man Man is doing what she can to marry him in order save her people from his wrath. Common people be suffering because of their leaders. Also, I want to say I really enjoyed you commentary ☺️

It’s so hard to tell what the others true intentions are because they’re both so smart and he already has so many walls up against her. Its definitely hard to tell wei shua’s intentions in the beginning 🤦🏻‍♀️

Not directly, but what they did was even worse. We swore to always help each other, but then you back out and left my clan to die? That is absolutely unforgivable and there's nothing in the world that would repair that. And if Wei Shao eventually forgives them, then good for him.

Honestly do we know if would have made a difference? Maybe it just would have ended with both clans being massacred. Her grandfather had to prioritise his people first. Anyways, the warring states era had constantly shifting alliances so either way it's not exactly unique event for that time. The drama romantises the main characters, but basically they were warlords fighting over the remnants of the previous dynasty. Eta: am totally team Man Man. Nothing that happened 14 years ago was her fault, she's just trying to make the best out of a shit situation to save her cousin and her family.

Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference, but at least we died together as was sworn instead of getting betrayed and left for dead. You promised to send troops, and then you don't? If you never promised to send these troops, then I would understand, but you did. So either keep your promise or I see this as a betrayal. I know the warring states era constantly shifts alliances, but I'm just putting myself into Wei Shao's shoes as you have been clearly putting yourself into Man Man's shoes. And in his shoes I'm not gonna be like "Oh well, I live in the warring states so my allies betraying me is just part of the job." No, you broke your promise and stayed in your cozy home while I had to see my entire family get slaughtered while hiding in a chest. I am traumatized for life and you think you can get away with this betrayal by sending your granddaughter to appease me? Then you've got another thing coming. And obviously this is a romance drama, so at some point they're gonna kiss kiss and everything will be happily ever after, but I would have no problem if he went scorched earth instead. I'm not so sure about Man Man as you are. Episode 1 clearly stated "Man Man's clever hands just threw moon blocks for divination." Maybe she was just a 5 year old kid throwing rocks and her grandfather is just a crazy old man grasping at straws. Ooorrr she was already a clever strategic kid who knew exactly what she was doing and what the clan had to do. We've clearly seen how strategic and clever she is right now, so I wouldn't put it past her. But let's say I agree that nothing from 14 years ago was her fault, because her throwing blocks as a kid having some magical meaning is just silly, she is still the granddaughter of the man who betrayed his clan and gave him lifelong traumas. There is absolutely no reason for him to trust her.

I mean at this point who can blame him?🤷🏽‍♀️ Dude has PTSD from what her family did to his. I'd be setting up some strong boundaries too, until I know for sure that she could be trusted. He can't afford to allow himself to be manipulated again and potentially loose the little bit of family he has left.
