On the cousin if I remember for the correct drama, it's either he is adopted or like in most Asian countries, people would call cousin, brother, sister, uncle, auntie etc as a sign of respect

Yes, I think Man Man was sincere; she really fell for his 'care about the people act'. Initially, remember she said that Panyi was her only guarantee of safety, so she didn't want to give it up until marriage. When she handed it over, she lost all advantage. It would make no sense for her to do that if she didn't trust him, hence the 'I misjudged you'. His advisor pointing out that she's a woman was just to remind him she has less power and cannot survive alone. Fortunately, Man Man is more capable than he thinks. She calls him “Biao Shein” which in Chinese familial structure is an old male cousin from a female line (son of either her mother’s brother or sister, or her father’s sister). WeiShao is the man whose whole family, including the families of his friends and colleagues, got killed in that battle partially because of the betray of Qiao Family. And despite the beauty of XiaoQiao, she is a stranger to him, and the member of Qiao Family. So I think WeiShao truly believe what he did was legit. And i dont blame hiim. If it was anyone else, but not our lead female character, I'd even say he's been too soft. After all, it was a shitty thing the Qiao Family did 14 years ago and cause so many families of Wei. And also WeiShao growing up carrying all this revenge idea and huge trust issue, so he wont be able to easily and quickly trust XiaoQiao and convert his mind.
