They keep talking about the princess not being able to go anywhere bc if any of those soldiers accidentally disrespect her, that could mean death for that soldiers family, maybe even the whole regimen if she wanted it to happen. Plus there are lots of superstitions about women and nobles and blood stuff

this is one of my favorite episodes, the reunion of changyu with both ning and xie zheng were beautifully done, the princess & marquis's sibling-like dynamic, the princess wanted to keep her pride for not making it seem like she came for gongsun which i believe part of her and li hua'ian's plan to delay the arrange marriage, i just hate that whenever gongsun calls xie zheng "jiuheng" they put zheng in the subs like ughh netflix loving your reactions to the comedy part of the show and of course the long awaited reunion of changyu and yan zheng ♥️

The strategist falling down the steps wasn't in the script. The actor, who is known for being a bit clumsy, did fall but stayed in character, and they decided to keep the scene, lol. There are 2 more bloopers with him similar to that later in the show, which they also kept. In ancient China they never cut their hair since birth because they viewed their bodies and hair as sacred gifts from their parents and this way they paid respect to them. The blue ribbon is the one she fought the wolf for and gave it to him as a gift and he later tried to use as bandage for the falcon in the first episodes. Same ribbon he tied in her hair the night of the festival and took from her when they parted by the campfire. The ribbon was also used by the falcon to locate her and given back to her when he saved her. The ribbon is a paid actor at this point lol

Fun fact! When Gongsun fell down the stairs it was actually a blooper that they kept in. The actor in real life is pretty clumsy in real life so if you see his character Gongsun being a bit clumsy or funny, it's actually him that they kept in.

I wish Netflix version translated the OST lyrics. Perfectly timed, when dialogue cuts off and song starts i provides a followup to what the characters are experiencing. The very first kiss scene and many others in this show are timed perfectly like this. I laughed at the boar comment, in the novel she goes out with the hunting party and does exactly as you described. But it was a bear, she took down.

The actor of Zheng was criticised a lot for looking too pale and frail, not warrior like enough, in this show. 😂

The sound effects and little songs in this giving us a lead up on what the scene is, comedic, serious drama or opening for one of the bad guys is a hoot. And the use of whistles alnd percussion is a lot of fun.

Be prepared for a lot of cliffhangers between now and the end of the series. They are all equally as frustrating as each other. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who claps and cheers for cute and anticipated moments in shows I watch.

The princess became aloof only because Gongsun said "I didn't expect you to be here. Surely not chasing after me?". So she tried to save face and started acting aloof. Great reaction. I was cheering and laughing with you!

I wish some of you will stop spreading useless info because it wasn't a lot and that article didn't even last. The dude still gained the most success from the show and any big actor will have haters. Not to mention that it didn't even make sense because Xie Xheng is supposed to be very good looking, that was the novel and this is their industry anyway, ofc he is good looking, that's why we watch it too, if we have to be realistic, it's not like she looks like a general either.

Xie Zheng actually pretended to be hurt here in the novel just for her to take care of him and I kinda wished to see it clearly in the show too because the situation kinda felt weird, he seemed fine in multple scenes after he was stabbed and then it was suddenly very serious when he meets Changyu. Like idk, I get that he is trained to be able to stand even while being hurt but it just felt a little weird and it made more sense after I read the novel.
